Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV presenter in the US and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond hair and an ebullient personality, explains how to prepare restaurant-style meals at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She has also learned about Italy's food traditions and culture, and the surrounding landscape. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step after she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I was awed by every moment." It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Chef Burrell resided in Italy for a whole year studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) located in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, which has had an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children living with challenges. She is also an Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she advocates for children with diabetes and awareness. as a speaker, guest and mentor, she travels around the United States to discuss her passion for cooking as well as her profession. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career that she feels so fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is essential to her.
